How Ireland addresses are written
Street or house name, town, county if useful, then the Eircode on the last line.
Ireland's Eircode has seven characters: a three-character routing key for the area and a four-character unique identifier that points to one specific address.
Tips
- Many rural homes have no house number, which is why each address has its own Eircode.
- Write the Eircode as two groups separated by a space.
- Include the county (for example Co. Cork) when there is no Eircode.
- Mail to Northern Ireland uses UK postcodes, not Eircodes.
