Street line, then city, two-letter province code and postal code on one line, with two spaces before the postal code.
Canadian postal codes alternate letters and digits. The first three characters, the forward sortation area (FSA), identify a region or part of a city; the last three, the local delivery unit (LDU), identify a street block or building.
Tips
- Use the two-letter province code, such as ON, QC or BC.
- Suite or unit numbers go before the civic number with a hyphen, like 1203-45 King Street.
- In Quebec, French street formats are common: 123, rue Principale.
- The letters D, F, I, O, Q and U are never used in postal codes.
